Hester Stefan Chillngworth: The Extinction Trilogy I: Monster Show
Part of DISRUPT, a two-day programme of disruptive performance. Your day or weekend pass will gain you entry to this event. Passes are available HERE
On a cinema screen somewhere, the iconic film Frankenstein plays silently. Below, a lonely creature stands lost, attempting to conjure the entire soundtrack back to life using just one voice.
A trans act of purging out-dated narratives, championing irresolvable bodies and being many things at once, this is Monster Show. And it is alive.

The Extinction Trilogy is a post-human laugh in the face of impending Armageddon. Three works (Monster Show, Blood Show & Nature Show) explore the human body and its limits for representation, voluntary species extinction, erasure, and transness.
The largest performance work to-date by Hester Stefan Chillingworth, and rooted in their lived experience of being non-binary, The Extinction Trilogy is a slow investigation into trying to transcend, obliterate and render obsolete humans on stage, in order to put the act of looking at bodies under heightened consideration.
Commissioned by Cambridge Junction with support from the Stobbs New Ideas Fund, co-commissioned by Old Diorama Arts Centre and developed with support from LIFT.
