Emma Spearing presents Whole

A quest to fill the space inside.

‘My sister smells of woodsmoke, warm earth, oranges and dust.’

Whole is a solo show about two people, one of them is on stage the other isn't. In some parts of the world people believe that twins share a soul, so how can you be a twin alone? It is a brutal wonder through the shadows of a bluebell wood at dusk, a map of a life written across two bodies. A dive into the depths of what happens when you lose part of yourself. It is a raw, tender, messy love story, a wound splashed in whiskey and haunted by ghosts.

Using autobiographical storytelling, immersive soundscapes, song and striking visual imagery Whole is an exploration of complex grief, identity and belief systems. Brutally honest and tender this is a deep dive into what it means to lose the person who makes us Whole. Made in collaboration with award winning theatre maker Jamie Wood.

Charmaine Childs presents POWER
A circus Strong Lady celebrates the ways we can feel powerful, even in an uncertain world.

In an attempt to find clues for how to overpower uncertainty - Charmaine asked people from all walks of life the same question: “Can you tell me about a time when you felt really powerful?”

This exciting new circus-theatre work uses the physical strength of circus skills to reveal the emotional strength in the stories she uncovered. Expect a mix of mix of storytelling, circus, comedy + a voice over soundtrack of people revealing their strength and struggle in their own words.

We travel with Charmaine, as she uncovers stories choice, change, resilience and determination - and marvels at the extraordinary strength of ‘ordinary’ people.

POWER is optimistic, uplifting, funny, physical and at times moving.

A Stobbs Troop New Ideas commission.
