In a room somewhere, two people are locked in an endless gory fight. Dead close to them, a ghost is singing.

Blood Show celebrates the process of destroying things, including ourselves, in order to create something new. It’s a call to action to put what’s on the inside on the outside, to allow the mess, and to defend against a violent gaze.

The Extinction Trilogy is a post-human laugh in the face of impending Armageddon. Three works (Monster Show, Blood Show & Nature Show) explore the human body and its limits for representation, voluntary species extinction, erasure, and transness.

The largest performance work to-date by Hester Stefan Chillingworth, and rooted in their lived experience of being non-binary, The Extinction Trilogy is a slow investigation into trying to transcend, obliterate and render obsolete humans on stage, in order to put the act of looking at bodies under heightened consideration.

Commissioned by Cambridge Junction with support from the Stobbs New Ideas Fund, co-commissioned by Old Diorama Arts Centre and developed with support from LIFT.
